We hope that you will be able to dis creetly turn the thinking of the ISZ away from the use of particular company trademarks. I would like to amplify Bill's comments on Therminol. Monsanto, in tha past, marketed the Therminol PB range of heat transfer flulde which were based on the PCBs. Recognising that this particular application could potentially lead to an escape to the environment, we withdrew the Therminol PR range of heat transfer fluids. We continue to market heat transfer fluids under the trademark, Therminol, which are not PO-baaed, We expect there to be a algnificant potential for our non-PCS Thermlnols in India. In view of our continued uee of the Therminol trademark covering non-PCB transfer fluids, it is important that you try and have reference to Therminol removed from PCB documentation. I should like to re-empheelse commente made by Bill regarding Section 3, Applications. Monsanto policy, as Bill states, restricts the sale of polychlorinated biphenyls to the dielec tric applications in transformers and capacitors and goes beyond even tha recommendations made by tha member nations HONS 028775 -2- of OECD. We continue to aupport the uae of PCB In the dielec tric area. In commenting on Mr. Singh'a letter, I have followed hia ter minology of referring to PCB.
