Kehoe Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology University of Cincinnati Cincinnati, Ohio Dear Dr. Kehoe: In answer to your letter of December 15, in regard t coming to Washington to talk over the problem on cleaning gasoline containers, I must say that, things being as they are novi, it is very hard to arrange a date to try to see anyone*. I believe that it might be advisable to let the matter stand until I have an opportunity to come out and see you and talk to you about the problem. I know, of course, that it is highly desirable to talk to the men in - the Service, who are involved with this problem, but my experience thus far has been that such a procedure is not as satisfactory one might expect, for they are usually not able to go further than to outline, in a general way, the conditions which must be met. In other words, we will make progress faster if we have something fairly definite to offer when we talk with the men in the Services. I think that if you and I get together and talk over the various phases of the problem as we visualize it, we can decide on a fairly definite program of approach. Please let me know if it will be satisfactory with you for us to tall: the matter over, together before we talk with the men in the Services, and if you are in Cincinnati most of the time, so that I could come and see you on rather short notice.
