Sherman Date: July 1,1997 Re: Materials for the July 15th VCTC Meeting The following materials are included in this packet: Tentative Agenda for the July 15th meeting; Diskette Containing an Excel Spreadsheet for Compiling Information on Vinyl Chloride Rail Cars in Use - As discussed at our last meeting, George Marshall has provided a formatted spreadsheet for compiling information on vinyl chloride rail cars. Please bring the information to the July 15th meeting; Excerpts from the VCNet Operations Manual "VCNet Member Company Emergency 24-Hour Telephone and Fax Numbers", "VCNet Member NonEmergency Numbers (Work, Home and Beeper)", and Table 4.1 "Response Capability Categories for VCNet Members". - This attachment reflects the changes I have received to date. Remember, at the April meeting we agreed to drop response category K from Table 4.1. Consequently, I need updated response category information from Borden, Dow, GEON and Georgia Gulf for this table. Toth reports on a follow-up conversation she had with the U.S. Coast Guard regarding the interpretation of the term "few cargoes". Carol's initial analysis of the final tankerman rule was included in the previous mailing; and Supplemental Comments to DOT by CMA and the Trade Association Alliance, re: Applicability of Hazardous Materials Regulations to Loading, Unloading, and Storage, dated June 17,1997. - Supplemental comments on the CMA 111010 announcement of proposed rulemaking that was issued earlier this year. A notice of proposed rulemaking is anticipated for the fall of 1997. As is the VCHC custom, committee members and CMA staff will meet the evening of July 14th for dinner. Currently, we are planning on a dinner cruise along the Potomac river. Weather permitting, we should have a great view of Washington, D.C., including a number of the monuments. Transportation will be provided from CMA headquarters in Arlington to the ship's dock. Specific instructions on the time and point of departure will be faxed to you within the next few days.
