N, Gotham at San Antonio, Texas, concern ing a presumed case of tetraethyl lead poisoning in "an employe of the government who handles lead tetra ethyl in on of the ware houses at Duncan Field". Dr, Gotham wrote to us initially, asking for information about this type of poisoning. We replied somewhat guardedly with a Request for further information, and the above quoted portion of his lei-ter in reply is the most significant part of It for our purposes. Dr. Schradln saw Dr, Gotham and attempted to see the man and to see the conditions under which he may have been exposed. He was unable to do so, but we have mad arrangements through Dr. Gotham and through a field representative of the Corporation, Mr. J* M. Rollins, to obtain Samples of excreta from this man as soon as it can bp conveniently arranged by the doctor. We have no further Information except that the story told Dr* Schradin makes it seem quite likely that this man. has had significant amount of exposure to tetraethyl lead. It is conceivable, of course, that it is all "moonshine",hut the patient's story of 1 his exposure and his symptomatology strongly suggest that he has had contact with tetraethyl lead.
