Dear Dr. Palich,
On behalf of the International Pittsburgh Coal Conference (PCC), I'm very pleased to confirm the invitation extended to you by Dr. Tarunjit Butalia, OSU to present a plenary talk at the 34th International Pittsburgh Coal Conference to be held at Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA, September 5-8, 2017. The theme of the conference, Coal - Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development expresses the purpose of the conferees to exchange information on current research and technology development that will allow the world's coal resources to be used in a way that meets societal and environmental needs. The perspective that you will provide will help to frame these key issues for the subsequent technical sessions of the conference.
The plenary lecture series will consist of three sessions (one each day) on the topics of Energy Production and Policies (September 6), International Issues (September 7), and Environmental Issues (September 8). Your plenary talk will be presented in the session scheduled on the morning of September 8. Each plenary lecture is scheduled for 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of general discussion. Please send me a title for your talk.
We look forward to the confirmation of your acceptance of this invitation. Detailed information will be sent to you from the conference office concerning the full conference schedule, including registration, accommodations, and associated events. These details can also be found in the Conference web site http://www.engr.pitt.edu/pcc/. As a courtesy of our conference, we will waive the registration fees ($800) for plenary session speakers.
Please contact me CZZ^J*JLZZJ or the Conference Office (412-624-7440), if we can be of assistance concerning your plenary lecture. We look forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh this fall.
With best regards,
Badie Morsi Professor and Executive Director of the PCC
