We have on occasion reported the presence of vinyl acetylene; we now know that this component is not vinyl acetylene but is 2-chloropropene-l. P, ^ A slight breakthrough in analytical technique has brought this to o,,',,-J' attention.

You will notice that catalyst age; i.e., higher catalyst temperature, causes a slight downgrading of the monomer in that butene-1, methyl acetylene and butadiene all tend to be in higher concentrations and therefore more difficult to remove. Butane and iso-butane indicate the degree to which we are pushing the acetylene plant.
We now have recharged the reactors so the monomer we are now producing will be as shown under the new catalyst column with a slight downgrading toward the old catalyst column over a two-year period.
