EPA will make one copy of the candidate list, either printed or microfiche, available to each interested party at no cost, on a first come first served basis, as long as supplies last. Additional copies may be obtained by written request (specify document GPO No. 055-007-00001-2), at a cost of $14.00 per copy, from: Superintendent of Documents Government Printing Office (GPO) Washington DC 20402 IMPORTANCE OF CANDIDATE LIST The Candidate List is a compilation of approximately 30,000 chemicals which will be used by the EPA Office of Toxic Substances to prepare an Inventory List, as required by the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), of all chemi cals manufactured or processed for comnercial use in the United States during the period July 1,1974, to the present. Thirty days after publication of the Inventory List on November 11.1977. any chemical not appearing on the inventory or any new chemical substances will LIAC3650 N 3741 -2 have to comply with pre-market notification and testing requirements before processing or manufacture will be allowed. Two reporting forms will be made available in the near future by EPA, one for substances included on the Candidate List (Form A), and one for all other chemical substances (Form B). EPA will shortly provide instructions for re porting wither type of substance for the Inventory, availability of the report ing forms, exemptions from such reporting, certain prohibitions, and proce dures for handling claims of confidentiality. It is in your company's interest to see that eligible chemicals are included on the Inventory List and that accurate information has been listed by check ing the Candidate List.
