PACO PRODUCTION MEETING September 23, 1975 PRESENT: John Brown, Don Marquardt, Doug Merrill, Bob Miller, Bill Moore, John Winslow 1. After a thorough discussion of our acoustic, we found the following information concerning it: a) In the Valley Area, Don Marquardt is able to sell our present acoustic by carrying both the 6373-C Formula and the 6374-J Formula, since some customers prefer to mix these and other customers use the 73-C Formula straight. b) In the Bay Area, John Brown is unable to get his customers to mix these products and, therefore, we have asked Doug Merrill to make a composite formula of four parts 6373-C and one part 6374-J to see if this can be sold in the Bay Area. In addition to this, we are getting a sample of Hamilton's new prem ium, which supposedly has only one-half of 1% asbestos. Our formulas still have excessive fallout when sprayed with air pumps in the Bay Area. Don Marquardt does not have this problem, since most of the equipment in his area is of the other type (the stator tube type pump). Doug believes that he can make some improvements to the formula which would minimize fallout; however, it may increase the cost. In any event, we will give this work priority in the lab to see if we can produce a product with minimum fallout that still has mileage equal to the 6373 Formula and similar working qualities, then we will price it out at whatever it should be based on our cost to see if it can be sold. 2. Doug Merrill has made an improved 5565-D Wall Texture with extra binder in it, which should make it more paintable and harder. John Brown has had this tested and has received excellent reports on it by one of our more exacting customers. Don has not had it checked yet; however, his customers have been satisfied with the regular formula. This new formula will cost slightly more than the old one, but John Brown feels it will be worth it if we continue to get good reports on it. 3.
