H. lapp Safety & Seovcrity Coordinator Personnel Services Department SUBJECT: Exposure to Asbestos Dust In reference to your letter of October 4, 1972, the following information is furnished: Powerhouse workers, only on an emergency repair would be exposed to Asbestos Dust. The number of people would be two on each shift if the repair could not be done on one shift. However, outside contractors nwHng a major repair would be exposed to Asbestos Dust. No one recalls any repairs being done in the last five years by either out people, or a contractor. We have ten fire blankets in the plant that are used by Maintenance Welders at times when they must protect the area that they are burning, or welding in. The number of people would usually be two men. Most of the small pipes in the Powerhouse, and in the plant are insulated with Fiberglas. Steve J.
