Wofford SAFETY 6 HOUSEKEEPING INSPECTIONS There are three inspections coming up in October which the Tech Center needs to prepare for. c 1) PT Semi-Annual Inspection ---------- October 10 TCSC will assign inspectors and conduct inspection of Labs and Office Annex. 2) SSPP Survey TCSC will provide tour guides for Lab inspection. ---------- October 13 3) Annual Safety 6 Housekeeping Inspection TCSC will make a five minute presentation to inspectors before touring the Lab. ---------- October 26 PLANT LABORATORY AUDITS John Garton has prepared the audit check list. Cross, et al -2- September 16, 1983 FAILURE OF PLASTIC ACETONE CONTAINERS Safety has ruled that plastic containers larger than one quart for storage of solvents is unacceptable. A TCSC bulletin will be issued. DISPOSAL OF LAB CHEMICAL WASTES Our Library has a book by the National Academy of Sciences on disposal of lab chemical wastes. A new revised edition has been ordered and will be available soon. RESEARCH II BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Construction in the Research II lobby near the large conference room will begin this month. Building access thru the lobby doors will be limited. Be advised! RESEARCH II BUILDING EVACUATION ALARM TEST J. R. McGinty will coordinate a test of the revised building evacuation alarms in the near future. NEXT MEETING The next TCSC meeting will be held October 20, 1983 in Research I conference room at 8:30 am.
