Further on the subject of the inspection meeting with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Friday morning, February 17th, I called back the inspector, Mary Holanda on Friday afternoon, advised her that I wasflgfr, of course, accountable to other people and requested a letter from her office detailing all of the materials which she requested us to provide and the reasons for obtaining them.
At that time she, advised me that she had no authority to write such a letter of request. I would have to.talk to her supervisor and inquired as to how long I would be in the office on that day. I told her approximately 5:30 but had no further follow up from her on that day or subsquently either by telephone or by the request of the letter.

On Thursday afternoon this date, I received a,-follow up call from Mr. Bob Ray,, the supervisor referred to aboy^, for Consumer Product Safety Commission at phone number 522-3886 who advised me that they were not required to provide a written letter and read to me Section 16B of the act which he says authorizes then to inspect records: Section 19A3 a right to copy: and as an alternative to the requested letter, we'll either provide a receipt for the materials taken or an affadavit which the inspector and I would sign that we provide the requested information to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

SUMMARY OF THE INSPECTION MEETING WITH U.S. CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION ON FRIDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 17, INSPECTER MARY L. HOLANDA.
Primary interest was whether or not we were aware of the ban and were in fact, complying with the manufacturing and selling deadlines, asked for a full list of officers, company affiliations, and provided the approximate dates at which we discontinued asbestos products, wall patching products manufacturing. Provided a copy of the letter sent out notifying customers of the.: deadlines.
Asked to receive copies of all of our wall patching compound formulas, which I declined indicating that this information had previously been given to the Auerbach Company of Philadelphia. I did provide her. with generalities as to the basic volume type raw materials that could go into wall patching and joint compound materials.
She asked for product literature which we provided.
She asked about whether or not . we test raw materials and/or finished products for asbestos law compliance whether or not we code our packaging what type of testing is done on finished products (performance only) and asked whether or not we knew whether or not our suppliers did any raw material testing.
Asked whether or not we maintain a permanent complaint file which we do ` and she asked to review.
I advised her that while we didn't do testing we have asked for copies of letters from all our raw materials suppliers certifying the absense of asbestos and the materials they provide us.
She asked for and we probably will proved one each labels on our full line both pre-ban and post-ban labels if there are any variations.
She asked for and I will review before sending the names of at least ten customers of patching compound, the names of all raw materials used in wall patching compound and the specific names and addresses of our supplier as well as copies of letters from our suppliers regarding the certification as to asbestos or non-asbestos in raw materials.
