May 25, 1972
Dear Sir:
On December 15, 1971 Monsanto Company advised your company of the termination of the sale of its ThermlnolS) PR series heat transfer fluids. At that time, we offered to pay freight costs incurred in returning the Therminol PR to us and costs for proper disposal of the material (by high temperature incineration). Many companies have taken advantage of this offer.
We are now writing to advise you that, effective July 1, 1972, Monsanto will terminate this offer because we anticipate the majority of conversions will be completed by that time.
After July 1, 1972 however, we will, until further notice, continue to make available our high temperature incineration service for proper disposal of any Therminol FR fluid or fluids contaminated with PCB's*, which your company may have on hand, on the following basis:
1. We will charge 3^/pound to incinerate fluids sent freight prepaid to our Sauget, Illinois plant for: a) Therminol FR series fluids. b) Therminol 55 or 66 fluids which may contain PCB's formerly in your system. c) Monsanto's MCS-681 flush fluid used for flushing a PCB heat exchange system
2. We will charge 5^/pound to incinerate non-aqueous, non-Monsanto fluids contaminated with PCB if sent freight prepaid to our Sauget, Illinois plant.
If you desire this service, please call (314) 694-2514 or write to Dr. Cumming Paton, Monsanto Company, P. 0. Box 14617, St. Louis, Mo. 63178.
Thank you for your cooperation.
