Dear Mr. Lyles: I have your letter of June 2nd with regard to the possible use of the Willson Fume and Smoke Mask by men who are mixing Ethyl Fluid, I am not able to give you an answer on this type of respirator since I have not had an opportunity to examine It or to inves tigate its efficacy. I should be very glad to approve it if it turns out to be satisfactory when I have examined it. I wonder if it would not save time in the matter if you were to send me a respirator of this type for my examination. If you have such maska available, perhaps you would be kind enough to send me one. If this is not convenient, please let me know promtply and I will obtain one from other sources. I am sure you can under stand that I do not wish to cause any unneoessa3y in convenience or discomfort to the men who are doing this work. On the other hand, it is necessary to be quite careful since a number of forms of respirators which appear on the market are quite unsatisfactory for the purposes for which the respirator is intended in this work.
