DIVISION OF WALLACE & TIERNAN INC.
April-25, 1969
Mr, H. B. Carr Tenneco Plastics Division P.0. Box 16 Burlington, New Jersey 08016
Dear Mr. Carr:
In accordance with our telephone conversation of April 23, we agree to supply written certification of residual t-butyl hydroperoxide content in Lupersol 11 in addition to the test data you now receive. This will become effective on all ship ments made after May 5, 1969.
To assist you in internal monitoring of hydroperoxide content we are enclosing a copy of Lucidol Analytical Method P-46-5. V7e would guess that the high results (4-6%) you have been ob taining would be a consequence of a method that is not selective for t-butyl hydroperoxide. If you continue to get high results, you may wish to get in touch with our Dr. Stanley Bukata, Super visor Analytical Department.
Typical residual hydroperoxide content for Lupersol 11 should run between 0.4 and 0.6%.
f
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
Very truly yours,
PENNWALT CORPORATION Lucidol Division

The certifications of the Lupersol 11 shipments from 9/30/69 and II/19/69 do not show the analysis for t-butyl hydroperoxide. As stated in the referenced memo, D. J. Bolton agreed to supply us with the certification for t-butyl hydro peroxide. Would you please contact the vendor again?
