Tom U1liman CL-OTM-3 SUBJECT: GEON 82151, TRANS 001 - FDA STATUS Geon 82151, Trans 001 is composed of ingredients which meet the current requirements of the FDA for use in contact with food types I, II, IVB (except liquid milk) and VIII as described in Table 1 of 176.170, at temperatures not to exceed room temperature and at a thickness not to exceed 0.005 inch. The ingredients in Geon 82151, Trans 001 are listed on an appropriate regulation in 21CFR, or are generally recognized as safe (GRAS), or prior sanctioned for such use. The end food contact article must meet the extractive limitation of 178.3790. The use of Diisononyl phthalate restricts the use of Geon 82151, Trans 001 to the above.

May cause headache, nausea and/or irritation of throat (coughing) - -or - skin (itching). May cause reddening of tils skin (erythema), swelling (edema) and irritation (dermatitis). May cause shaking, loss of coordination, ataxia and hypersensitivity. Not an irritant (see above) but good hygiene dictates avoiding any eye contact. May cause depression, excessive salivation, diarrhea, eye and nasal discharge. No known human exposure data. The no-toxic effect Level in the diet of rats = L00 ppm in sub-chronic (90 day) toxicity studies. Sidney damage appeared at 300 ppm.

Stable Compatible with other stable compounds. Hydrocarbons, organotins and. oxides of carbon and sulfur may be produced when burned. Will not occur.
VII. SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES

Spills may be removed with any absorbent: sand, sponge, cloth., paper, etc. Use detergent with water for final cleanup. Wear prescribed protective equipment (see section VIII) to prevent vapor inhalation or skin contact.
