1 FPW | EWE ETHYL CORPORATION INTER-OFFICE LAW DEPARTMENT JUH 7 1978 To Department/Division Heads and Plant Managers From Gary Ter Haar Subject OSHA Carcinogen Policy Addi ,1 Address Baton Rouge Date June 6* 1978 I have had several questions on Kit #2 which I sent you on May 25. First of all there were questions regarding who belongs to AIHC. Attached are the companies which belong to A1HC and the trade organizations which cooperate with AIHC. Let me expand a little further on who should receive the kit. It is true that many of your suppliers and customers may either belong to AIHC or may have received the kit from someone else. Nevertheless, I urge you to discuss this OSHA problem with your friends and acquaintances in business. I feel the most effective use of this kit is on a one on one basis where you have a chance to discuss its implications in your friend or acquaintance's business. Urging him to take a few minutes to write his congressmen and senators of his concern is, I believe, the best approach. I do not believe it will be effective to simply send a large number of the kits to customers and suppliers without personal contact. Be sure to point out that while this is not a legislature matter, those who are influential members of the community should clearly let their lawmakers know how concerned they are about this issue.
