Surrounding military bases in California have been involved as well as State and Local Governments. The project is a genuine public-private partnership but will be paid for using private dollars and taxpayer dollars will not be used. It is also exciting that State and Local Governments, private business entities, and environmental groups support this project. Jeff Mortier, of our firm has had productive discussions with Downey Magallanes and Brian Steed at DOI. Mr. and Mrs. Mitrovich will be in DC over the next couple of weeks and I wanted to ask if you would have time to meet with them. They obviously will accommodate your schedule. I am writing because I do firmly believe this is an outstanding project consistent with the philosophical views of the Administration and does reflect a true public-private partnership.
