Dear Mr. McCann:
I am sorry for the delay in my reply to your letter concerning asbestos dust.
As a result of your letter, air sampling was carried out and
the results reported June 27, 1977 were sent to Mr. G. Detenbeck,
Industrial Relations Administrator. Of the six personnel and
two area samples taken all were below the Ontario standard of
2 fibres greater than 5 micrometers in length per cc of air.

The results ranged from 0.3 to 1.5 fibres/cc with a mean value
of 0.6 fibres/cc.

The present Ontario standard for asbestos fibres Is, 2 fibres greater
than 5 micrometers in length per cubic centimeter (cc) of air. ' Hone of -/U-Y
