As usual, the meeting was well worth attending. Several major Incidents from the past were reviewed to prevent their lessons from being lost. Also a number of interesting audience surveys were made on various safety issues. The results from an industry questionnaire on controlling runaway PVC reactors were of particular interest. The BFG VCM storage tank safety standard and maintenance work standard that were developed as a result of a large (1 1/2 MM pound) VCM release from a sphere need to be evaluated.
