The Lead Industries Association has announced a grant of (2500 to the School of Ceramics, Rutgers, The State University, for research on lead In eeramlce. The work will be under the direction of Dr, John H. Koenig, Director of the'School, In creasing need for lead compounds in ceramic bodies and ceramic finishes because of the low temperature firing characteristics, electrical and other properties which lead imparts. Is the reason for the lead industries' Increased interest in this field. Low temperature ceramic dielectric bodies fluxed with load frit* are attracting great attention In industry and government In electronic applications, and porcelain enamels for steel and aluminas contain ing high percentages of lead compounds and firing at 1000F., or less, are opening wide new poasibllltlea In the porcelain enameling Industry.
