Enclosed are photostatic copies of the first two pages of a recent report of the Bureau of Mines, on the second of which I have marked the figures for the last four years on TJ.S. ship ments of white lead, both dry and in oil. An informed official of the National Lead Company tells us -,hat practically all white lead (carbonate) shipped in dry form 5oes to the paint manufacturers,, with a relatively small amount to the ceramics manufacturers, while that shipped in oil goes to the paint-using trades. I have never heard the tern "in pulp" used in this connec tion but have no doubt that it is equivilant to our term ,Tin oil." I hope the above will give Dr. Grut what he is after.
