DUCOTE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS - EMPLOYEES EXPOSED TO ASBESTOS FIBERS OSHA requires that all employees exposed to asbestos fibers shall have on or before January 31, 1973, and at least annually thereafter, a comprehensive medical examination of each employee engaged in occupations exposed to air borne concentrations of asbestos fibers. Such-annual examinations shall include, as a minimum, a chest X-ray (posterior - anterior, 14" x 17"), a history of elicit symptomatology of respiratory disease, and pulmomary func tion tests to include forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced aspiratory volume at one second (FEV 1. 0). Please review those requirements with plant doctors and schedule necessary tests for compliance as soon as possible. Listed below are the names of mechanics skilled in insulation.
