Scott Urges South Florida Families to Monitor Weather and Stay Alert NAPLES, Fla. - Today, Governor Rick Scott urged families in South Florida to monitor the weather system in the Caribbean Sea and stay alert for potential flooding and heavy rain this weekend. The Governor received a weather briefing from the Florida Division of Emergency Management and the state will continue to monitor any potential impacts. Governor Scott said, "While this is not currently a developed storm, we know how quickly weather can change and how important it is for every family to be prepared. Families in South Florida should pay attention to local weather updates and be alert for potentially heavy rain and flooding throughout the weekend. The state has been in contact with local emergency management leaders and while there are currently no unmet needs, we stand ready to respond to any potential impacts of this weather system.
