Research Project with X-105A We have received a copy of the L.I.A. results for Phase 1 obtained through the period April 29-May 4-, During this period, ^ millipore filter samples were collected and analyses of these are in progress. Tapes from the A.I.S.I. smoke sampler for this period have also been received and are being analyzed. Examination of the data obtained during the fueling with fuel containing 1.7 ml, TEL/gallon indicates that the concentrations of lead (L.I.A.) within the garage are all satisfactory. The concen trations range from 0.5 to l.OCbC/ft.s of air (0.017-0.035 mg./M3 ). A concentration of ft.3 (0.105 mg./M3 ) vas obtained on the sidewalk 'under the vent on Jones Street during the tank truck delivery of Chevron (Phase l) gasoline. Samples were collected while Phase 1 gasoline was being loaded in Richmond. , Ground level concentrations during this operation were 0.0c/'ft.3 . Two samples collected at observer height during the loading-read 0 .Qj/f t .3 and one concentra tion read 0.5ci/ft.3 (0.017 mg./ft.3). Concentrations of carbon monoxide within the garage ranged from 10 to 25 ppm. Temperatures ranged from 52 to 72 F. and air velocities ranged from 20 to 100 fpm. In a telephone conversation on May 8 with Mr. J. F. Koehnle, some recommendations were made concerning the marking of samples and the need for accurately logging activities within the garage. It was also agreed that a visit sometime during the Phase 2 period should be made to this site in order to review the progress of the work and to observe the tests in the field.
