"My hope is that we might be able to get them out... maybe a week from now, which would be great," Murkowski told reporters today after a confirmation hearing. The nominees are Joseph Balash, to be Interior assistant secretary for land and minerals management; Ryan Nelson, to be Interior solicitor; and Richard Glick and Kevin McIntyre, to be FERC commissioners. Murkowski at the hearing said she will urge her colleagues to submit their questions for the record quickly and asked the nominees to be "rapid with your responses ... so that you can get to work. We can't get you there fast enough," she said. WHAT'S NEXT: The committee will vote on the nominees as soon as next week.
