A lso i t h as been common p r a c t i c e to take a rag and soak i t w ith tank gas to use in cleaning about th e sta tio n and th e pumps. M r . ^ H B ^ i s 62 y e a rs o ld h a s l i v e d in t h i s neighborhood a l l h is l i f e and was i n tn e h ^ id w a r e b u s in e s s b e fo re h i s p re s e n t o c c u p a tio n . He has n e v er had any s e r io u s i l l n e s s e s u n t i l fo u r y e a rs a g o . He i s known to ta k e considerable of alco h o lic beverages even to th e point of over-indulgence but seems to get o verthese bouts very w e ll. I t has been a couple y e ars sin ce he has been on one of th s e s escap ad es. Four yeaxs ago he co n su lted a D r. Rudolph Rabe who h a s s in c e r e t i r e d from a c ti v e p r a c t i c e and l i v e s in B asking R id g e , N .J . f o r l o s s o f s e n s a tio n in h i s l i t t l e f in g e r o f th e r i g h t hand. (He i s no rm ally l e f t handed} I do n o t know what tre a tm e n t was used but t h i s l o s s o f s e n s a tio n progressed to a llth e fin g e rs of th e hand and forearm as w e ll. There has been no r e tu r n o f fu n c tio n nor h a s th e r e been any e x te n s io n s in c e t h a t tim e . My f i r s t p r o f e s s io n a l c o n ta c t w ith M r . ^ m ^ w a s O ctober 7 th o f t h i s y e a r when he c o lla p s e d w h ile g iv in g g a s o lin e t o a c u sto m er. He s a id he had a severe pain in th e p it of h is stomach, everything went black and he f e l l backw ard. He was o n ly u n co n scio u s ab o u t a m inute was a b le t o p ic k h im s e lf up go t o th e s t a t i o n and a sk h i s p a r tn e r t o c o n tin u e s e rv in g th e cu sto m er. He had had a sim ila r a tta c k th e day p rev io u s, and a f te r being in bed th a t nifcht, he had two more though v e ry m ild . They a l l fo llo w e d th e same p a t t e r n . He g iv e s no o th e r h is to r y o f co lic^an d b o w el movements a re r e g u la r w ith o u t c a t h a r s i s , about once d a ily and so ft co n sisten cy . A fter th e a tta c k mentioned above h is p u ls e was 80/m in, B .P . 1 3 0 /8 0 , h e a r t sounds o f good q u a lity and no g ro s s n eu ro lo g ic al changes except h is rig h t arm.
