Exposed enameled metal splines are flanged to hold the tiles, making installation easier and more economical. How it's installed: hangers for suspension of the ceiling are spaced not to exceed 4' in both directions. \l/i" rolled channels are attached to hangers with saddle ties or bolted straps. E-Z-S splines are attached 2' on centers to these channels with clips. The short, 12" edges of Acoustone are laid on the bottom flanges of the E-Z-S splines. Angles or .tees are inserted in the kerfs of the long, 24" edges. Why it's used: the new E-Z-S System offers these outstanding advantages: 1. Accessibility--tiles push out easily, per mitting easy adjustment of services above the ceiling. 2. Adaptability--excellent for new con struction and for lowered ceilings in existing buildings. Simplifies installation and main tenance of valves, lighting, air conditioning controls, ducts, conduits, plumbing, etc. 3. ECONOMY--tiles go up neatly and quickly without nails or adhesive, eliminating costly ceiling construction. What it does: in addition to providing ready access to the area above ceiling, and easy ap plication of incombustible ACOUSTONE tiles, the E-Z-S System permits wide latitude of lighting installation. It can be adapted to any light troffer arrangement, or lights can be in stalled in the space above the ACOUSTONE, and glass or plastic can replace the tiles at points in the finished ceiling, creating practically any desired effect.
