us full information on the problem with whlc.lt you are con fronted in connection with certain tanksJ!^rci.ii\sed from Wizard Oil Company, and projected for use for the atdvh^e of one of your products. Samples of cho contents of t he s\'tanks were
obtained by a roprsentat 1 ve of j^je-^Xton d.ivlsi\tn of Ethyl Uasol_ne Corporation arxi forwar^H^to Us) together with suita ble notations on the tanks. Xb^ analysts have been completed and. -o are now in position ta^oko certain .recommendations.
The important fact revealed by r^Whdxmlysoa is that Tanka 1
and 2 contained re la t iyeiyibarre 'isudqunts of inorganic lead. The sludge from Tank /L^6ont^l^ied 0^2^ of inorganic lead; that from Tank 2 containsj^J.OO^I o&Ynorg&nic lead. In this connec

of organic lead. The findings would seem to indicate that both
of those tanks had had leaded gasoline In them at some time,
but considering the smallness of the quantities of organic lead,
this is not entirely certain.
When one considers the long period of storage of liquid material in these tanks, it is quite apparent that dangerous concentra tions of lead could occur in the finished product. 'Therefore,we strongly recommend that these tanks should not be used for the purpose contemplated, until every effort has been made to re move all of the load-bearing materials from the inside of the tank.
