As discussed in the attached memo from CMA, letter-writing campaigns such as ours to Congress appear to have been successful in opposing the Applegate Bill. As you will recall, this bill called for the development of a hazardous materials transportation computer tracking system that has been estimated at a cost of at least $2.1 billion per year.
I will keep you informed on the results of the study mentioned in the CMA letter as they become available.
