Recently, Jerry Smith and I had conversations with government people in Washington who are responsible for HEW and HUD activities under the new lead paint and pediatric lead poisoning regulations. They expressed little enthusiasm for over-coatings such as the one described in the article. I also feel that the pharmacological effect of Incorporating a chelating agent into an over-coating must be studied very carefully.
