Chem. Week $1, #3, 94 (July 21, 1962) "A unit for making 100$ inorganic asbestos paper has been started up by Raybestos-
v' Manhattan at Bridgeport, Conn, The product, R-M says, is the first of its kind developed for high-temperature laminates and insulating jobs.. The material is a pyrolized version
` of the firm's Novabestos papers. Pyrolysis drives off organic binders or saturants that accumulate after manufacture, thereby pre vents gas pockets from forming when the paper is in service.
n V' The papers are available in composition rang- ' ing from pure asbestos to 20:80 asbestos: glass. They may be used straight, or, when combined with high-temperature binders, they are said to make good ablation materials." (This item is copied here in its entirety.)

''For structural applications where high heat
resistance and low thermal conductivity are
required, Albright & Wilson (Mfg.) Ltd. has
a new group of" inorganic, phosphorus-bearing
resins . They look promising, too, for brake
linings, electrical insulating materials,
surface coatings, and adhesives,
"Asbestos felt laminates made with the new resins, A k W says, show flexural strengths in the 20,000 to 25,000-psi range and will retain over 50% of their strength after 50 hr
at 930 F or 100 hr at 570 F. The resins can
be reinforced with mica, alumina, end flue gas dust to produce molding compositions. The materials are still in the pilot stage and * ;i.ll relatively expensive, ^3.30 to $4.00 per I'o But prices are expected to come
down as production increases, and inexpensive fillers can be used."
