Eumbers 1* 4* and 5 all had less than one fiber per milliliter that were 5 microns or greater in length. Ro fibers were detected in any of the remaining seven samples taken at various operations. The following is a list of samples taken and the pertinent data: 1. Operation of cutting open a cylinder with filler material. The air sam pler was worn by the bandsaw operator. Time interval was 23 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute. Date taken 9/11/74. 2. Operation of cutting filler material sample blocks. The air sampler was worn by the bandsaw operator. Time interval was 17 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute. It was noted that due to draft conditions in the build ing, the majority of the dust generated by the operation appeared to be drifting away from the operator. Date taken 9/11/74. 3. General area of the Partec Room. Time interval was 30 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute. Date taken 9/19/74. Asbestos Shredder Room (with exhaust blower operating). The air sampler was worn by the operator during the shredding operation. Time interval was 6 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute. Date taken 9/26/74. Time interval 12 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute Date taken 9/30/74. 7. Valve well drilling operation. The air sampler was worn by the operator. Time interval was 10 minutes at a flow rate of 1 liter/minute. The operation included the removing of the autoclave fitting, drilling well, and vacuum clean up. The most dust appeared to be generated by removing the autoclave fitting. Date taken 9/24/74. 8. Undercutting operation. The air sampler was worn by the operator.
