Harvey LMH-194-86 February 24, 1986 ASBESTOS CONTENT OF SIDING ON CELANEX* UNIT STRUCTURES At the request of Mr. M. D. Harvey, the asbestos content of three samples of translte siding from Celanex* Unit buildings was determined. The samples were obtalaed by Mr. Harvey on February 18, 1986. The samples were labeled as follows: Sample #1: Celanex Raw Material Storage Warehouse - North wall by ramp * Sample #2: 'Celanex Extruder Building - South wall by storage shed Sample #3: Celanex Product Warehouse - East wall by ramp The samples were shipped to National Loss Control Service Corporation (NATLSCO) via Federal Express on February 18, 1986* "Bulk Asbestos" determinations were requested on the three samples. The results of these analyses were received from NATLSCO by telephone on February 19, 1986. The analyses Indicated that each of the three samples contained approximately 20Z chrysotile asbestos. Written verification of these results was received from NATLSCO on February 24, 1986, and Is attached. We did not request that the samples be returned. References are contained in Laboratory Notebook No. 33493, pages 38 and 39. No further work is planned.
