'Merritt, Secretary Leonard T. Beale, Director The meeting was called to order by Mr. Edward F* Beale, who presided, and Ir Morris BE. #efcfcitt reported the ainntes of the meeting* The minutes of our meeting of May 8 were read and approved. Mr. Edward F. Beale presented a letter from Mr. warahow enclosing the auditor * s report for the period January 1, 1938 to December 31, 193 8 and on motion, duly made and seconded, the report was referred to the Treasurer for study and comment. Mr. Beeves reported that the loan of $200.00 which we made not so very long ago to Mr, H.C.T.Palmer has now been entirely paid back. On motion duly made and seconded, authorization was granted for oie of j I our student engineers to visit the Cincinnati, Charleston, Baltimore and other plaits of the national Lead Company with Mr. tfildser on an efficiency 11 mission. - '/ Oh motion made by Mr. Reeves and seconded by Mr. L. T. Beale, the following awards were approved because of their unusual efforts in the operation of our linseed oil mill made necessary by our increased output: J. C. Sheldon (maintenance engineer} $50.00 Harry Supper (foreman) $50.00 Mr. Gardiner reported that there have been several indicatione recently where paint manufacturers have been selling a lot of paste paint and we are making a survey to determine whether this may be a result of our reeent white-lead price advance. He also reported that the U. S. Government in Washington has about com-/ pleted specifications for ready-aired white-lead paint and for ready-mi red ( red-lead paint.
