He concurs with Dr. Cherryman's observations and would not recommend utilizing available NMR facilities as a screening procedure. Given the limited number of cases expected each year,, based on Dr. Bennett's excellent registry, and the inability to treat, it seems a misapplication of NMR resources to screen broadly. While certain subpopulations might appropriately be examined if they are at very high risk, the inability to treat effectively does not suggest great value in early diagnosis.
