Remarks: A feasibilitteystwas conducted to determine ifthe physical propertieosfthetestsubstance were compatiblewithshake flask methodology proposed foruse inan n-octanol/wateprartitiocnoefficient determination.
Upon completionofthetestprocedure,a definitivpeartitioinnterfacweas notobtained.Instead,a beige/whitemulsion was observed throughout the sample.

Materialsand Methods
A 100 mg/L stocksolutioonf PFOS (WildlifIenternationLatld,No. 4675) was preparedby dissolving 50.0mg ofthetestsubstancein500 niL ofNANOpure water.An analyticbaallance(ID:R-LAB-05) and a ClassA glassvolumetrifclaskwere usedforthepreparationT.he solutiownas sonicate(dID:SPUB-06) for approximately20 minutestoensuredissolutionT.he resultinsgtockconcentratiownas notcorrectedforpurity.
A I0-mL aliquotofthestocksolutionwas transferreidntoa40-mL glasscentriffitguebe.A I0-mL aliquot ofn-octano(lSigma-AldrichL,ot# 05949MN) was transferreidntothe40-mL centrifugteube.The samplewas hand shakenandthencentrifuge(dIEC Model K, S/N 07570) forapproximatel5yminutesatapproximately1500 rpm. A defuiitivpeartitioinnterfacweas notobtained.Insteada,beige/whitemulsionwas observedthroughout thesample.
