One man may need to be restricted from the area (perhaps off work entirely?) if no improvement in laboratory studies is evident when again seen by the specialist in late April or early May. 3) Five of the HC operators on current restriction are under evaluation by outside specialists. An additional man has developed a serious personal illness (not thought to be related to vinyl chloride) that probably will prevent his return to work. One man is on "restriction" (work cur rently does not involve exposure to vinyl chloride, sup posedly, so no change of assignment made) because has refused medical exam and therefore cannot be "known" to be at no increased risk should he be exposed to vinyl chloride. 4) A copy of the vinyl chloride program, to be held this month, is attached. Inquiry into details will be made to try to determine if additional consultation with University of Louisville specialists will be needed to help clarify the situation at Ethyl's Baton Rouge plant.
