Un pigment constitue essentiellement de particules de Ti02 de la varifetd rutile portant un enrobage d'alumine ou d'alumine-silice, les surfaces des 5 particules de Ti02 comportant 0,05 & 2 %, par rapport au poids du TiOz, de cations cerium gui leur sont lies ainsi qu'une quantite associee d'anions borate ou d'anions d'acide organique polyfonctionnel ayant une solubilite dans l'eau d'au moins 10 grammes par litre a 25C, ledit 10 enrobage d'alumine ou d'alumine-silice formant une couche supdrieure sur les particules de Ti02. 2. Un pigment selon la revendication 1, dans lequel 1'enrobage d'alumine ou d'alumine-silice constitue 0,5 a 10 % du poids total des particules de Ti02. 15 3. Un pigment selon la revendication 2, dans lequel 1'enrobage d'alumine ou d'alumine-silice constitue 1 d 6 % du poids total des particules de Ti02. 4. Un pigment selon la revendication 3, dans lequel 1'enrobage d'alumine ou d'alumine-silice constitue 2 a 4 % 20 du poids total des particules de Ti02. 5. Un pigment selon 1'une quelconque des revendications pr&cedentes, dans lequel les anions associes sont des anions borate. 6. Un pigment selon la revendication 1, dans lequel 25 les anions associes sont des anions d'acide organique polyfonctionnel ayant une solubilite dans 1'eau d'au moins 10 grammes par litre S 25C. 7. Un pigment selon l'urie quelconque des revendications 1 d 4, dans lequel les anions associes sont 30 des ions citrate, succinate, fumarate, adipate, tartrate ou maleate. 8. Une composition de revetement comprenant un pigment selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 d 7, une matiere filmogene et un vehicule liquide. 35 9. Un procede de production de particules de pigment de T10z enrobdes, qui consiste a (a) former une suspension aqueuse contenant 200 a 450 grammes par litre de Ti02 et N 30951.01 DUP050449514 2 ayant un pH auquel les ions cerium restent en solution, (b) ajouter une quantity suffisante de sel de cerium pour obtenir une concentration d'ions cdrium dans la suspension de 0,05 & 2 % par rapport au poids de Ti02 , (c) ajouter 5 une quantite suffisante d'une source d'anions borate ou d'anions d'acide organique polyfonctionnel pour obtenir une concentration desdits anions qui soit de 100 a 300 % de la concentration des ions cerium, pour faire ainsi precipiter les ions cerium sur les surfaces des particules 10 de Ti02 en association avec lesdits anions borate ou d'acide organique polyfonctionnel et (d) deposer un enrobage d'alumine ou de silice-alumine sur les particules de TiOj traitees. 10. Un procddd selon la revendication 9, dans lequel, 15 dans l'etape (d), on fait precipiter de l'alumine sur les particules de TiOz traitees en ajoutant suffisamment d'aluminate de sodium d la suspension pour obtenir une concentration d'environ 2 a 8 % par rapport au poids du Ti02 et en ajustant le pH dans l'intervalle de 6 a 9 20 pendant 1'etape de precipitation. Pigment, das im wesentlichen aus Rutil-TiC^-Teilchen mit einer Beschichtung aus Aluminiumoxid Oder Siliciumaluminiumoxid besteht, wobei die Oberflachen der Ti02-Teilchen 0,05 bis 2 %, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Ti02, Cerkationen und eine assoziierte Menge Boratanionen oder polyfunktionelle organische Saureanionen mit einer Loslichkeit in Wasser von wenigstens 10 g/1 bei 25C aufweisen und -wobei die Be schichtung aus Aluminiumoxid oder Siliciumaluminiumoxid eine Deckschicht auf den Ti02-Teilchen bildet. 2. Pigment nach Anspruch 1, worin die Aluminiumoxid- Oder Siliciumaluminiumoxidbeschichtung 0,5 bis 10 % des Gesamtgewichts der `TiO.j-Teilchen ausmacht. 3. Pigment nach Anspruch 2, worin die Aluminiumoxid- Oder Siliciumaluminiumoxidbeschichtung 1 bis 6 % des Gesamtgewichts der Ti02~Teilchen ausmacht. 4. Pigment nach Anspruch 3, worin die Aluminiumoxid- oder Siliciumaluminiumoxidbeschichtung 2 bis 4 % des Gesamtgewichts der Ti02~Teilchen ausmacht. 5. Pigment nach einem der vorstehenden Anspriiche, worin die assoziierten Anionen Borationen sind. 6. Pigment nach Anspruch 1, worin die assoziierten Anionen polyfunktionelle organische Saureanionen mit einer L8slichkeit in Wasser von wenigstens 10 g/1 bei 25C sind. N 30951.02 DUP050449516 2 1 7. Pigment nach einem der Anspriiche 1 bis 4, worin die asso- ziierten Anionen Citrat-, Succinat-, Fumarat-, Adipat-, Tartrat- Oder Maleationen sind. 5 8. Uberzugszusammensetzung, welche ein Pigment nach einem der Anspriiche 1 bis 7, ein filmbildendes Material und einen flussigen Trdger umfaBt. 9. Verfahren zur Herstellung von beschichteten TiC^-Piument10 teilchen durch (a) Bilden einer wassrigen Aufschlammung mit 200 bis 450 g/1 T102 und einem pH-Wert, bei dem Cerionen in Losung bleiben, (b) Zugfeben von ausreichend Cersalz zur Bereitstellung einer Cerionenkonzentration in der Aufschlammung von 0,05 bis 2 % des Gewichts des Ti02, (c) 15 Zugeben einer ausreichenden Menge einer Quelle von Boratoder polyfunktionellen organischen Saureanionen zur Bereit stellung einer Konzentration dieser Anionen von 100 bis 300 % der Cerionenkonzentration, wodurch die Cerionen zur Niederschlagung auf den Oberflachen der TiC^-Teilchen in 20 Assoziation mit den Borat- oder. polyfunktionellen organi schen SSureanionen veranlaBt werden, und (d) Aufbringen einer Aluminiumoxid- Oder Siliciumaluminiumoxidbeschichtung auf den behandelten TiC^-Teilchen. 25 10.
