University of Cincinnati Kettering Laboratory Eden Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio Dear Doctor: 7'e have your letter of Feb. 7 and the analyss of This man's work was done in one or more of our Forming rooms, the work consisted cf taking bundles of about twenty pasted pieces from a dolly, placing them on the edge of a Forming tank and then brushing the plate lugs on both ends of the piece with a wire brush. These pieces consisting of two plates "are then dropped into slots, in the Forming tank. Dust counts taken in Forming rooms while this work was in process showed the following results in mg. per 10 c.m. of air: 4*94, 14.7, 15.7 and 23.5* These readings, wo admit, indicate concen tration and especially dangerous concentration when it is known that the room is exhausted through the roof. Because of T/ar orders we are forced to use this process of tank Forming plates and as yet no method of eliminating the hazard has been evolved. 7.Te investigated the time elapsed between the last day of exposure and the date of sampling and found that on January 20 at 3:30 P.M, , he had a seven day week, he did not work Sunday, January 21 and worked January 22 for nine hours Tip to 5:00 P.lvJ.
