This is one of the issues we raised with the Administrator relating to language in the Lautenberg TSCA reform bill on manufacturing byproducts that are sent for recycling and what type of relief EPA may be able to offer from the burdensome reporting requirements as provided for under the language in Section 8(a)(6) of TSCA as amended by the Lautenberg bill. See the language at the bottom of first page of the attached text. We are nearing the end of the negotiated rulemaking process and EPA will need to decide what to do to implement the language if consensus with all stakeholders is not achieved.

We met during an electronics industry meeting with the Administrator on May 2nd. During that meeting, our client IPC, which is a global trade association representing large and small companies in the electronics industry, described issues of concern under various EPA programs affecting the industry and our desire to find solutions that advance environmental stewardship while also minimizing or eliminating unnecessary or overly burdensome reporting/regulation. Per my discussion yesterday with Patrick Davis, I was hoping to set up a call next week between you and the CEO of IPC, John Mitchell, to update you on one of the issues we raised in that meeting. Would you have time either on Monday between 3 and 4:30 or Tuesday at either 11:30 or 12 for a short call?
