24 December 1969 Mr. E. R. Rowley Chairman National Lead Company Building Dear Mr. Rowley: Confirming our conversation, the Lead Industries Association will assess us approximately $33,000 for the year 1970. This increase of approximately $14,000 over the 1969 assessment is due to a sharp increase in their budget for Environmental Health Control. This increase in our contribution is based on an assessment of 4$/ton of lead used for general funds and 5$/ton for the Health and Safety program. This compares with a figure of 5/ton assessed for general funds in 1989. I believe this program sound and necessary to implement and I recommend that we go along with this assessment for 1970. Yours very truly, HJW-.GDB H. J. Whitson 0000-NLI-000020*t$
