Its level in vinyl can be reduced by adding more chlorine to the furnaces and reducing furnace temperature. Making these changes reduced the VC1 yield based on EDO, causes more tar formation and results in lower production rate. Messrs. Oliver and Major have estimated that at present rates it would cost in the order of $10,000/mcnth to reduce vinyl acetylene down to a maximum of 0.5 ppm, plus an additional loss in production. / Please advise if more information is required. The bombs or cylinders are to be identified by car number and date shipped and are to be sent to Borden Chemical Company, Petrochemical Division, Geismar, Louisiana, Attention: Mr. Bruno Krueger. Mr.-Skinner indicated that the bombs would be returned within twenty-four hours and he would like to know when we will begin sending these samples to Geismar.
