Howard SCOPE Aroclor production facilities at Anniston will be expanded by the addition of tankage for storage and for the preparation of blends, drumming facilities in a new building (to be expanded on another project, CEA 1452, into a product warehouse), new and larger flakers for solid Aroclors and for.biphenyl in the same building, and packaging equipment for flaked products. Tank truck loading and a new track spur with tank car loading and unloading facil ities are included. Tank farm start-up will be August instead of July, and flaker-packaging probably mid-October. Detail definition of the flaker area is now underway. Field Work; The 24" process sewer is now being relocated. Gunnite repairs to the 36" storm sewer are well along, and promise to be successful. A new sanitary sewer has been tied in permitting excavation of septic tank fields. Power poles have been relocated to clear the site. We now plan setting tanks 5/6/68. About seven weeks were lost; two may be regained before start-up. Tank Farm: Design is well along. Plant ammendments to the blending process will require modifications at blend tank auxiliaries. A few in strument details remain to be resolved,, Flaker-Packaging: A workable layout has been developed on the study model and is be ing discussed with the plant. The flaker vendor's strike has not been settled. Quotations have been requested on solids handling equipment. Tests are planned at selected vendors. ' R. W.
