Asbestos Ambient Air Samples Collected at Sherwin Plant - August 1998.
During the month of August there were Thirty-five (35) asbestos area samples collected at the Sherwin Plant. The samples were collected and analyzed utilizing the NIOSH 7400 Analytical Method.
One Hundred percent (100%) of the samples were < 50% of the Reynolds Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) of 0.1 f7cc.
Ninety-one percent (91%) of the samples analyzed were below the detection limits ofthe NIOSH 7400 Analytical Method.
Sample ID # 11998 was rejected due to overload ofdebris.
The following information pertains to Non-fiiable Asbestos Containing Material removed in the 35 Building, Middle Section of the HVAC Duct The data was collected on August 29* and 30* 1998: Samples 12000, 12001, 12002 and 12003 were sent to an independent lab and a TEM analysts was used to read these samples. Sample ID # 11988 and 11989 indicate higher fiber counts than the others taken in the same abatement area. These samples were not read using a TEM
Do to the high number offibers in the #2 Boiler Burner area Sample ID # 11874 was sent to an independent lab and was read using a TEM.
See the attached table for a summary ofthe information.
