Unlike flanges or screwed connections, a quick disconnect coupled hose cannot be gradually opened and once loosened it cannot be reconnected with any pressure on the system, as a result, we will now require that a bleed valve be installed on one" end of any continuous run of flexible hose that uses quick disconnect couplings. The bleeds need to be at or close enough to the disconnect that pressure on the hose can be readily determined without the possibility of hidden or remotely located valves that would hinder the depressure process.
