We have the background in preparing for Poisoned Profits. Obviously, it is difficult because of all the allegations over many years, but the truth is that Monsanto has stepped up to this obligation and provided major financial assistance in the clean up, RGB's were once considered essential for safety, Monsanto stepped up to the plate to take them off the market before being required to do so, and the company will continue to work with the residents of Anniston in the years ahead. There is disagreement on health effects. The Monsanto Material Safety Data Sheet says there are no proved human health effects beyond chloracne, ASTDR has a more negative assessment, and the Alabama Department of Public Health has a fish advisory in the immediate area of Anniston for PCB contamination. Probably a factual summary of the history and what Monsanto did to address the situation is a good start, with the accurate assessment of health effects something that needs to be carefully described not to exaggerate either way.
