Interr.ittent exoosures of high concentration levels as well as long term exposures at lower levels have been found to cause malignancies. As a result of tnis developing understanding, new asbestos emission regulations have been promulgated for Incustrles manufacturing or using asbestos materials,and the requirements for process testing and control have been made mare rigorous ta prevent unnecessary asbestos exposures.
