Shaw - RC Subject: PRODUCTION CHANGE DATES AT CHARLESTON & SHREVEPORT From: Date: December 13, 1984 This memo Is just a follow up of our phone conversation on 12/11/84 in which I gave you a change over date in Charleston and Shreveport in regards to switching from organic to glass and thick butt to flat shingle construction. These dates are as follows: 1. Charleston - started glass flat shingle manufacture March 1976 - switch from flat glass to thick butt glass January 1979 - switch from thick butt glass to flat glaas August 1981. ^ lW T& JUit ^ 2. Shreveport - started on flat glass September 1981 - switch from thick butt Wind Seal organic to flat Wind Seal organic November 1983. The above dates represent the time that manufacturing changed over or added the new constructions. Obviously, with thick butt versus flat there was an immediate change as of that date. However, Charleston continued to run organic felt as shingle sale demanded for.a period of time after switching to glass in March 1976.
