This proposal had bean tinder discussion for approximately one year and the cost of it could run from about 017,000,00. to possibly 030,000,00, After a lengthy discussion, the proposal vos put to a vote and six of tha eight meabers of tha Coordttee voted against tha continuance of tha eensldcration of tha proposal. It, therefore, was rejected for the following reasons, 1, It was decided that as the <J,A .H.A. has a similar program, we ehould not enter into a prograa of our own as tits results of the Q.AJ1.A, investi gation will be nado available to us upon tha conclusion of that Investigation, . 2, There is a feeling among certain members that sueh an investigation would stir up a hornet's nest and put tha whole industry under suspicion, . ' . 3, Wo do not believo there is enough evidence of eancor or aabestesis, or cancer and asbestoeis, in this industry to warrant this survey. The second item to be taken up was a "Memorandum regarding Environmental Dust Surrey" for the Asbestos Toxtils Institute. . .
