Deeter, Manager-Office Facilities SUBJECT: Asbestos Monitoring Results During the OSP/TSP Renovation We review the asbestos monitoring data (from Law Engineering) at the SWH Manage ment office approximately biweekly. This is adequate for routine monitoring results but may constitute a significant delay for exceptional results. It is our understanding that Law Engineering investigates the cause of air monitoring results, relevant to Shell employees, which exceed 0.03 fibers/cc. It would facilitate our ability to communicate with Shell employees if we were apprised as soon as possible of: (1) results above 0.03 fibers/cc which are potentially due to the sbestos abatement and not due to any known interfering activities; and (2) results equal to or exceeding the action level of 0.1 fibers/cc regardless of cause or association with asbestos abatement. We recommend that an appropriate procedure be established for communication of the exceptional results as described above to your organization as they are obtained.
